I've been really going through a range of emotions with the recent events that have been highlighted in the news lately. Sad, fearful, disappointed, angry, powerless and powerful to name a few. Unfortunately, these incidents have been happening for years and continue to happen but the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases have just been ones highlighted more in the media. To be honest, being a black man and a recent father I wonder what type of society has my son been brought into. Thankfully, I have seen glimmers of hope via organizing, protest, honest dialogue, compassion and rejuvenation in our society. I hope we as a society can individually and collectively continue the path of change not just for the future generations but for our present lives.
